Disney Villains Series: Ursula

Greeting from the Dark Side!

This was a quick look inspired by the Disney villain from The Little Mermaid, Ursula. Despite being an evil sea witch, she still looks very glam! She is really kickass, and I remember being scared of her when I was a small girl.
This look is a more "subdued" version on her makeup. When I say subdued, I mean that I am not going as extreme at I could have. Ursula has very purple skin and very large eyelids. Most people would have painted their face purple and would have covered their eyebrows to draw in thinner eyebrows that go much higher up on the forehead. But I want this to stay simpler, glam, and somewhat more feminine. This would be a perfect look to wear to a Halloween/dress up party. Pair this look with a long, strapless black dress, Ursula's purple earrings, her shell necklace, and maybe a white wig.

 The Eye Look

1. On your primed lid and lower lash line, apply a bright blue eyeshadow. I used a mixture of Lime Crime's Parasol and Atlanteal eyeshadows.
2. Make a cut crease with a black or dark grey eyeshadow. The cut crease should be somewhere above your natural crease. I used Lime Crime's Lotus Noir eyeshadow to make the cut crease. Make a very dark and defined line first and then blend it out. (I also used Lotus Noir to define and darken my eyebrows)
3. Using a matte grey eyeshadow, apply it above the crease all the the way up to the brow bone.
4. Apply eyeliner, mascara and some lashes.

The Face and Lips Look
  1.  Either apply a purple face paint or apply the palest foundation you have. I used my Skin Base foundation.
  2. If you use a normal foundation, apply a matte purple eyeshadow or blush all over your face to set your foundation and to give your skin a slight purple cast.
  3. Use a dark purple blush or eyeshadow to contour your cheekbones. I used Illamasqua's Sin blush.
  4. Use a shimmery purple eyeshadow to highlight your cheekbones. I used Lime Crime's Pearl-ple eyeshadow.
  5. Apply a gorgeous red lip color! I used NYX's Snow White lipstick.
  6. If you want to, take a black eyeliner and draw in Ursual's beauty mark.
  7. And don't forget to apply a red lacquer on your nails!

 And your done!

Now you can be bewitching and evil! You can even take out some of your anger on a certain innocent mermaid...Or not!

  2. This is amazing Nancy, so pretty :) It's funny because as I was looking at the pics, I was like "does her face have a slight purple cast or is it just me?" Haha, that's such a great idea to dust an eyeshadow all over for a slight color cast, but nothing intense!

  5. Cool tutorial, the purple face is very subtle, and I've never tried the cut crease technique before. I don't know if I can make it work (I'm almost mono-lidded) but it's a new idea that I want to try now ^_^
